Support for Play Fairway Analysis Software Enhanced by Petroleum GIS Experts

Boulder, Colorado, 5th June 2009 - Platte River Associates, Inc., (PRA www.platte.com) and Exprodat Consulting Ltd. (Exprodat www.exprodat.com) have agreed to form a strategic alliance designed to enhance PRA’s support for its GIS-based play fairway analysis software PetroAnalyst.  Exprodat, based in London, specializes in GIS within the Petroleum sector, and as such will provide key GIS support and training services to PRA’s European customers.

PRA’s PetroAnalyst software is an extension of the ESRI ArcMap GIS program, first utilized over four years ago for Petróleos Mexicanos as a way to help them effectively evaluate the ‘chance of success’ for plays or prospects from different basins.   PetroAnalyst operates within ESRI’s ArcMap leveraging the power of this potent mapping and data analysis program.   The development of PetroAnalyst opens new doors for conventional and unconventional plays and play fairways.   PetroAnalyst goes from Common Risk Segment Maps (CRS) to Absolute Probability of Geological Success (Pg).
