Background Information

The Millennium Atlas is a significant contribution to the understanding of the petroleum geology of the North Sea, and has been compiled by the editors utilising contributions by some of the most innovative geoscientists currently working the UKCS. 

The GIS edition was prepared by Exprodat from the original drafted Atlas figures and contains virtually all the Atlas maps and much additional data as geo-referenced links - including 324 vector/shape files from 58 Atlas figures, 363 geo-referenced images from 89 Atlas figures and the capturing of location and linking of 234 other figures, all with supporting metadata.

Full access version

A full GIS edition is distributed in both ArcGIS Desktop (8.x) and MapInfo formats, allowing companies to integrate the wealth of information in the Atlas with their own data sets. A company-wide licence is also available.  For further information, please contact Exploration Geosciences.

Free read-only version

A free version was distributed in the PESGB April 2004 newsletter for personal use or research and education.   This locked read-only version is delivered using TNTatlas, operates only with the data contained on the DVD and does not allow you to export to or import from other databases or formats.
