E&P GIS Training
Play Fairway Mapping with ArcGIS
Duration: 2 days
This course provides participants with ArcGIS skills required to undertake play fairway mapping workflows using ArcGIS Desktop tools and the Spatial Analyst extension. Participants will gain the advanced editing skills needed to efficiently develop and manage complex play fairway polygons. Participants will also utilise the raster spatial data model implemented within ArcGIS through the Spatial Analyst extension.
The Spatial Analyst’s ‘grid-based’ tools provide a quick and direct route to the development of common risk segments within ArcGIS and those completing this course will have the confidence and knowledge to modify and create common risk segments and use ArcGIS to implement play fairway mapping workflows.
Pre-requisites
It is assumed that participants in this course will have completed an introductory ArcGIS course or acquired equivalent knowledge.
Intended audience
Geoscience professionals and support staff who are going to be modifying or creating their own play fairway maps within GIS projects and need to be able to acquire the relevant ArcGIS skills and knowledge. This course assists geoscience professionals get the skills required to use ArcGIS editing tools effectively. Participants will also learn how to use geoprocessing tools within the Spatial Analyst extension to build and manage common risk segments.
