Exprodat has renamed its hugely popular ArcGIS training courses for the oil and gas sector. The reason for the change is to allow users to more easily identify relevant training combinations and create supportive learning pathways
The content of the courses remains unchanged, with the training continuing to provide attendees with techniques and information that enable them to use ArcGIS technology more effectively within exploration and production departments.
Chris Jepps, Technical Director of Exprodat, said “We felt it was time to rename our courses for a number of reasons. Primarily we wanted to clarify our course titles to make it easier for ArcGIS users in the E&P sector to see which courses were applicable to them, whether they’re novice or expert users. We also wanted to make sure we did this using a standard approach that allowed our courses to “plug-and-play” more easily with Esri’s own training classes, to deliver an even better hybrid learning pathway for our customers.”
The new titles take effect from January 2012, with the list of training courses including:
Previous name | New name |
Applied ArcGIS Techniques for E&P | ArcGIS Essentials for Petroleum |
Managing Coordinate Reference Systems in ArcGIS | ArcGIS Coordinate Reference Systems for Petroleum |
Building & Managing a GIS for E&P | ArcGIS Data Management for Petroleum |
Basin and Play Analysis using ArcGIS | ArcGIS Basin and Play Analysis for Petroleum |
Surface Analysis for E&P | ArcGIS 3D Surface Analysis for Petroleum |
Terrain & Image Analysis for E&P | ArcGIS Terrain and Image Analysis for Petroleum |
Exprodat provides the highest quality GIS support to oil and gas exploration and production departments around the world. Esri (UK) has recently recognised this with the award of Gold Partner status and by signing an MOU that sees the two companies working closely together to promote petroleum GIS solutions.
