The recent PETEX 2010 conference saw the oil and gas exploration and production community come together for a week in Earl’s Court. The conference was supported by an extremely well attended exhibition that allowed product and services companies to present their offerings to a combination of oil & gas professionals and recent graduates.
Exprodat Consulting, the leading provider of GIS-based oil & gas solutions attended the conference again this year. This ensured that all clients and prospective customers had a chance to find out the latest news and developments from the company as well as ask questions about how GIS could support their projects.
This year saw Exprodat entertain just as much as they informed. The BATAK machine has been used by Formula 1 drivers, rugby teams and all manner of elite athletes to improve their reaction times, agility and accuracy. BATAK is an array of lights in the form of impact pads that light and only go out once they have been hit by the player. Exprodat gave all PETEX attendees the chance to join illustrious names such as Jenson Button to see what score they could post on the leader board of the most targets hits in thirty seconds.
Over the three days of the conference a tremendous battle ensued that saw scores rise from a respectable 30 to a remarkable 51. This final score was posted by Alex Davies of Svenska and his efforts saw him being presented with an Apple iPad by Exprodat Director Chris Jepps. In case anyone doesn’t believe that Alex was able to post such an incredible score, a video of his efforts can be found on the exprodatgis YouTube channel.
Sales and Marketing Director for Exprodat, Jules Cullen said of the successful exhibition: “PETEX is a great event for meeting with our clients and this year’s stand really allowed people to learn about Exprodat in a fun and relaxed environment. Companies are excited about their plans for GIS in 2011 and we and our business partners look forward to an innovative year ahead”.
